heading (paragraph): Cities
No. of pictures: 30 pictures

As every year this year yet again was held Traditional Trnavian Fair which also happens to be the oldest Slovakian fair. Right in the city's pedestrian zone visitors had an opportunity to  watch presenations of traditional crafts. Children had also their fun owing to roundabouts placed in side streets. Great entertainment was provided by a cultural program taking place at the Trojičné square. Apart from visiting stands with craftmen, commercial retailers, and snack bars, visitors could even experience a little time travel by joining an event called The Middleages Under the Walls, which took place on the promenade. You can experience the whole event on following photographs.

heading (paragraph): Cities
No. of pictures: 28 pictures

The construction of St Michael the Archangel's parish church began towards the end of the 14th century. The church is today a landmark in Skalice and is located on the central triangel square. However, it is likely that this originaly one-navy church in late-Gothic style (1450-1470) was rebuilt to a three-navy basilica located on foundations of much older building. The church burned down several times but it was rebuilt again. Also, some adjustments were done on it. One gave it it's massive tower that has a late-renaissance arch. Even you with your guide can enter it and enjoy a beautiful view of Skalice on the top.
