River description:
Svratka is a big river, flowing from upper parts of Vysočina (Bohemian Moravian Highland).
First as a brook, later it becomes more stronger, finally near to Dalečín forms a water basin (Vír-dam). The valley is, first more open on table-land plains, becomes more deep to Vír, and Vír-dam pier belongs to those very high. Further, the water flows or in spring, or in a moment when the dam lets out the water from other reasons. However, the water can be let out to water basin only. If the basin overflows, so the marvellous section, up to Tišnov, is waiting for us, full of not only weirs, but also partially of rapids, too. You can drive the whole route within one day.
Svratka river is navigable – on its upper section – in spring and after heavy rains, under the dam is navigable after water letting out .
