Mladá Boleslav
Town´s palace Templ
Late Gothic palace was constructed in 1490 as a seat of Jan Císařovsky of Hlinik, Executing District Officer of Boleslav dominion. Three-storey building is a jewel of Vladislav-Yagellon Gothic style. Its placement on rocky headland above Jizera river, in fortification line, predestinated it also for protection function, too. Always important aristocrats were owners of this building till White Hill battle. In 1628, the palace was sold as confiscated property, and became an ownership of leading citizens of Mladá Boleslav. However, after big fire within
30-years´ war, there were effected vast arrangements in Baroque style, and templ lost its position as leading noble building.
Today, this building serves as exhibition hall, and literacy-musical performances are organized here. In June 2000, there was open here (from town´s initiative) multi-medial exhibition regional museum exposition, named as TEMPLUM HISTORICUM ET ARCHAEOLOGICUM BOLESLAVIENSE.
