The river sources in Žďárské vrchy near to the community of Horní Holetín in the altitude of 606 m of sea level.

The river sources in Žďárské vrchy. It flows predominantly to the north and near of town of Hrochův Týnec it mouths to Novohradka river. Its river-basin makes 110 km2. In its upper part the river flows through narrow afforested valley in narrow rocky bed. It is no surprise that you suddenly knock against the tree behind the turn, stone-pits in a river, etc. After Bítovany the river flows into Chrudimská plain and starts to turn in overgrown bed between fields and meadows. The weirs are mostly not navigable.
It is available in the places: Miřetice, Žumberk, Bítovany, Zaječice, Řestoky, Hrochův Týnec.
It is available in health centres in Hrochův Týnec, Slatiňany and Chrást.

- Ležáky: monument of Fascist vistims.
- Žumberk: rests of Gothic castle of 12th century.
- Hrochův Týnec: Baroque castle with statues, Gothic church, arranged in Baroque style.
