The city founded by the Premyslid dynasty. The city is on the Otava river in the region of South Bohemia. Pisek is known for its oldest Stone bridge in the Czech Republic. It is a cultural landmark. The Golden Path ran across it in the 14th century. It connected Czech lands with Bavaria and Upper Austria.
