This river sources in Novohradské Mountains at foot of Vysoká Hill in an altitude of 780 m of sea level.

The river takes its sources in Novohradské Mountains at foot of Vysoká Hill. First, it flows to the north, anyway, near to community of Byňov turns to northwest and later to west, keeping this direction to its mouth into Malše river near Doudleby.
