River description:
This river sources near to Schoneck in Germany in an altitude of 710 m. To Bohemian territory flows as a torrent, flowing to the south. It mouths to Ohře-river near to Sokolov.
Its river basin makes 300 km². First, narrow valley becomes wider near to Kraslice.
After Rotava, where the river-bed is more clear, the river enters more narrow valley again.
The flow is bordered with forests, the river bed is stony with small rapids. Some weirs are passable.
Svatava river is navigable in spring, after snow thaw or after heavy rains. The orientative water registered in Oloví would show 40 cm at least, but 50 cm is better. Anyway, better navigation is after tributary with Rotava river. The navigation follows quite quickly, in the rivere atere are no obstacles or dangerous places.

You find some caping places along the river.
 
Food supply:
It is available in Kraslice, Rotava, Oloví, Svatava and Sokolov.

It is available in health centres in Kraslice and Sokolov.
 
Places of interest:
Kraslice: rests of a castle and Neo-Romanesque church, production of musical instruments.
Oloví: mining of lead ores, glass factories, church of 16th century.
Sokolov: see Ohře river.
