Water stages

River description:
The upper section is navigable after snow thaw in spring or after heavy rains. You can judge it according to water level on Želivka river. The competitions on slalom canal are taken place several times in a year. So, this action could be used for navigation of short but nice section of Želivka at sufficient water stand. The upper section offers quick navigation, if you do not enter to some problems in overgrown parts. However, the navigation on dam-lake is not allowed.
The river sources in southeastern direction of the community of Blanička in an altitude of
678 m. It flows mostly to the east, flows through the dam basin of Želiv and mouths to Želivka from its left side. Its river basin makes 341 km². The upper torrent section has narrow, stony river bed, partially with bank overgrown and fallen trees. There is a lack of weirs, and if so, they are passable. The outskirts are surrounded with forests, partially with meadows, and the valley has its magic. Under the dam, there was created a slalom canal, however, it belongs to those very difficult canals.
Unfortunately, the surroundings of Trnava river does not offer camping possibilities, the suitable accommodation you find in Želiv.
