South Bohemia Museum

South Bohemia Museum in České Budějovice was open for public just in 1877 as one of oldest regional museums. The operation was started in three rooms of house No.2 on today´s Přemysl Ottokar Square in spaces of Town Hall, with several hundreds of collection objects, mostly gifts. Within very short time period, the museum became so big that all available spaces and rooms were unsufficient. So, the town started to build new building in Dukelská street.
