SK, Jaslovské Bohunice: A Walk in Paderovce - VIDEO
Published: 20.9.2021
After walking through the village of Radošovce, when we returned home, we stopped in Jaslovské Bohunice, which is known to us thanks to the nearby presence of a nuclear power plant. Specifically, we visited the municipal part of Paderovce. It is interesting that three decades ago this part was an independent municipality, so it is no wonder that it still offers several beautiful sights to see.

Approximately 2 km from Jaslovské Bohunice, on the road No. 1301, you will reach the local part of Paderovka. Its immediate neighbors are the already mentioned Radošovce. It is a small village, but it attracts several buildings from the past.

Paderovce

Right at the entrance to the village on the left side is the branch church of St. Martin the Bishop. This originally brick one-room chapel with a wooden bell tower, dedicated to St. Martin, was built in 1762 by Kryštof Erdőda. In 1848, the chapel was rebuilt in the Classicist style into a church, whose single-nave space with an oval presbytery closure and a tower built from the gable façade still forms the dominant feature of Paderoviec.

As for the interior of the church, it is vaulted with Prussian vaults on retracted pillars. The vaults are decorated with frescoes from 1968. The main altar is neo-Gothic with a central oil painting of St. Martina.

After visiting the secular church, we move to the local cemetery, where there are remarkable stone tombstones of heart-shaped, horseshoe-shaped and plate-shaped. There are even more magnificent tombstones with rich plastic decoration. Their origins date from the 19th to the first half of the 20th century.

You should definitely stop by the stone cross, which says: "Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, pray for us. 1934 rod. Ondrušová, 2019 rod. Jursová ”or at the stone statue of the Virgin Mary with a child from 1794.

pomník padlým

To the left of the entrance to the cemetery is a monument to the victims of the First World War, which is decorated with a sculpture of a triple hill with a double cross and below it a plaque with the names of the victims. Near the cultural house there is a statue of St. Florian.

A walk around the village of Paderovce is easy, but you can diversify it by visiting, for example, the neighboring Radošovice, where you will discover, among other things, a beautiful mill with a nice hut. You will combine history with tasty snacks.
