River description:
This river sources in Low Tatra Mountains on north slope of Ďumbier Peak. From here, it flows to the north, just up to its mouth, from left side, into Váh-river in the town of Liptovsky Mikuláš. Navigable section makes 9 kms. Demanovka is a typical mountain river with bouldary river bed, big slope and very transparent water. Its banks are not regulated, so its river-bed is changing very often. So, during your navigation, you have to take into consideration with law foot-bridges and fallen trees - as the obstacles change every time after inundations.
The river is passable after snow thaw in spring and after heavy rains (attention - for very short time period only!). As far as the navigability is concerned, so this can be judged on spot, at parking place nearby Demanovske caves.

Here, you find Museum of Slovak Karst and Jank Král Museum, Peter Bohun Gallery, Protestant church in Neo-Classic style. In Paludzka quarter, there is to be found Renaissance and Rococco castle. In the community of Okoličná, there is Gothic church and a castle in Renaissance and Baroque style.
