River description:
The river Lipník starts with confluence of several brooks not far from the community of Straňany. It flows to northwest, and it mouth in Dunajec-river from right part, near to the community of Červený Kláštor.
Its river basin takes 81 square kilometres, from its total length of 16 kms, there are 9 kms navigable. This small river overcomes quite big slope, through rocky thresholds and cascades, in the river-bed of 3-8 m width. These obstacles culminate below the community of Velký Lipník with 2 meters high waterfall („V kutoch“). So swimming waistcoats and helmets during navigation are a must!
Lipník river is navigable during spring snow thaw and after heavy rains. The navigability could be judged on spot, mostly in most difficult sections.
