SK: A trip to the biggest summer attractions in northeastern Slovakia

In the summer heat, swimming pools or mountains are perhaps the best places to relax and have fun. That is why today we will go for water refreshment to the northeast of Slovakia and we will not miss a walk through the local forests or historical places.

We will start our journey in the famous Bardejov Spa, where in addition to healing springs you can also use the local summer swimming pool or for the more demanding there is a large Wellness SPA - pool and sauna world in the hotel Ozon or smaller in the congress four-star hotel Alexander.

We definitely recommend cooling down in the form of a visit to the swimming pool at the city stadium in Bardejov (on Družstevná Street) or the summer swimming pool Makovica in Nižná Polianka. In the more distant Svidník there is a water park Aquaruthenia with three indoor and three outdoor pools. The Aquapark is open all year round and also offers the services of a wellness center. The good news is that all these recreational facilities are fully operational and operational after the second wave of the coronary crisis.

If you are a fan of natural water areas, only 50 km from Bardejov is the Domaša reservoir, where there are excellent opportunities for swimming, recreation and even sailing on the cruise ship Bohemia.

After a swim, you can explore the UNESCO monuments in Bardejov or admire the beauty of the local wooden churches (eg Hervartov, Tročany, Krivá, Ladomirova, Bodružal, etc.). A visit to the open-air museum in Svidník or the Čierna mláka Forest Nature Trail will also be unusual for you. A popular destination for trips is also an agrotourism facility in Stebnícka Huta Slnečný Majer, Zborov Castle, the Chata Koliba recreation center in the Čergovské Mountains or a military nature museum with examples of various heavy combat equipment and the Dukla Memorial. 

Enthusiasts of hiking, mountain biking or nature walks can use a network of six interconnected mountain bike trails around Bardejov, which consists of healing singletracks (Lekársky, Napoleon, Čerešenka, Herkules, downhill Kráľovský singletrack), Oxygen route Mihaľov - Bardejov and Kejlí . In addition, the cycle path from Bardejov to Mníchovský potok is part of the international cycle route AQUAVELO on the Slovak - Polish border, which connects the spa towns of Bardejovské kúpele, Krynica, Muzsyna and Szczawnica in the length of 230 km. Children will enjoy themselves in the relaxation and sports zone in front of the shopping and service center in Bardejovské lázně, or at the playground in Bardejov by the river Topľa.

Stays or trips to Bardejov, Svidník and its surroundings also have the advantage of a unique combination of water fun with a wide range of sightseeing trips, visits to castles, manors, wooden churches, museums, galleries, monuments of war history from the Middle Ages to monuments from the first and second World War II and various attractions. They are especially suitable for families with children, couples, as well as for individual tourism.
