SK: Martin - Evening Walk in the Town

The town of Martin is located in the northern part of the Turiec Basin.It is surrounded by beautiful and massive mountains that are part of the Malá Fatra National Park and theVelká Fatra National Park. In the center of the city itself there are many historical building where the history of the Slovak nation was written. Today we would like to invite to an evening walk in this beautiful town. A winter walk has its own magic but it was further enhanced by a Christmas spirit during our visit of the town. Snowy streets and colorful decorations will definitely enchant you. Two towns in one. This is how one cold name two historically important places in the north of Slovakia. Whereas Martin boasts with couple of national institutions, Vrutky offer wonderful hikes along the banks of the Turiec or to the Mala Fatra National Park. Towns surrounded with mountains, nice atmosphere and many events througout the year are ideal for family trips or just travelling enthusiats.

SK, Mosovce - Royal Village

In the center of Turcianska Basin is picturesque village of Mosovce. The village offers an unusual sightseeing. For example, you can see a late-Rococo/Classicist chateau built in the second half of the 18th century, or the birth house of Jan Kollar with famous table saying: "Slávme slávne slávu Slávov slávnych" (Celebrate famously fame of Slavs the famous). Or there is a sacral masterpiece - Gothic catholic church of the Holy Trinity and its tower, well today rather a torso, to its left side. Unique is also an English park. You can see there a beautiful Classicist pavilion and find the way to the island of Love. So don’t hesitate anymore. Join us to see Mosovce at least in digital form.

SK, Turianske Teplice - Spa Town

Its long spa tradition lures visitors even from afar. Even we couldn’t resits temptation to see it. We visited this town surrounded by nature of the Velka Fatra to the east, the Kremnicke Hills in the southeast, the Ziar in the west, and Mala Fatra in the north. We saw the pedestrian area, spa houses, we tasted healing springs, and walked in the park.

SK, Martin: Trip Along A Nature Trail and Ferrate

A new tourist attraction was created a few years ago in the well-known locality of Martinské hole in Malá Fatra. This is the Ferrate of Mountain Rescue Service trail. You can stop at informational boards. These introduce you local flora, fauna, geology, or history of the area. Also possibilities along the ferrate. Another thing you can do is to enjoy coexistence of nature and humans. You will enjoy true adrenaline and also the view of Turcanska Basin (Turčianská kotlina). SK, Klastor pod Znievom and Znievsky Castle

SR: Turiec – Winter Climb Up Zniev

Today we invite you to walk to the perhaps lesser known hill in the Turcianska Basin with the ruins of the castle, which is located above the village of Kláštor pod Znievom. If you already know it's Zniev, you guess right. A medium-high output is possible from multiple directions. Here you will find skiers and snowshoe enthusiasts as well as cross-country skiers. Zniev (985 m above sea level) is characterized by a circular view and during the climb you will overcome the elevation of almost 500 m. Your effort will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Mala and Velka Fatra, Strazovske Hills, Kremnicke Hills, Chocske Hills, Low and Western Tatras and also the picturesque Turcianska Basin.

SK, Mala Fatra – The Frozen Klak Waterfall

Enjoy, together with us, a winter ascent to the Slovak national natural monument - the Klak Waterfall. Access is possible from multiple sides. The esasier one is from Vrícko. The first part of the route stretches through the picturesque valley along the Vríca creek, where you can also roast bacon in the forest in winter. The trail is marked with a green tourist sign. The second part of the tour is steeper and leads to the forest. A well-visible forest path leads you directly to the waterfall. During the winter you will find beautiful snowy scenery, frozen "paintings" of the Vríca creek and last but not least Kľaký ledfall.

SK, Velka Fatra – A Hike Up Tlsta

Our starting point will be the picturesque Turčianská village of Blatnica, from where we will head through the Gaderská and Vápenná valleys to the limestone massif. We will also enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks or the haze covered basin.

SK, Hadviga – Lost Settlement of Turciany

Accept the invitation to take a walk in the now defunct settlement of Hadvig, which was founded by German colonists as early as 1392, but was displaced due to tragic events during World War II. In 1954 it became part of the village Brieštie (district Turičanské Teplice). The territory of the defunct settlement currently has a cottage character, you will find a simple Roman Catholic church from the early 20th century, a wooden bell tower and several beautiful corners. You will connect to the most important tourist highway in Slovakia, the Way of the Heroes of SNP.
