A picturesque Slovak countryside is to be characterized by extraordinary high number of castles. According to some statistics, its density there is the highest one in Europe! If we could put down all buildings, including those that ceased to exist, where it could be difficult to discover some stones at leats, its number could reach two hundred units!

Sabinov, small town, situated in East Slovakia, became famous through the film "Obchod na korze" ("Promenade Shop"), made according to work-novel of writer Ladislav Grossmann. This film obtained, as the first film of Czechoslovak production, the American Film Academy Prize Award, "Oscar" gold statue in 1966, as the best film of foreign-language production.

The community of Terchova (Slovakia) is ensnared with various legends, joined especially with George (Juraj) Janošík, local native. Nevertheless, hardly anybody of Slovakia or Czech Republic does not know "Brigand Captain" and his suite. At present, his existence is reminded with International Folklore Festival - "Janošík Days", the greatest one of such type in Slovakia.

The community of Patince is most in south placed village of Slovak territory. It is situated in an altitude of 100 metres above sea level The locality became famous thanks to local thermal swimming pool, situated in distance of two kilometres outside the village (in a direction from Komárno to Štúrovo).

Small diversion from Muráň plainland did not disturbed at all the plans of our active holiday, which continues in Low Tatra Mountains. The distance from Brezno to a top of the massif, dominating with Ďumbier Peak, is not great.
