Tips for trips
Meadows have been gradually becoming green again. Orchards blossom, vine grows on vineyards. Simply put, the spring season has just started. Many events take place during this time. Today we talk about Lower Austria and all kinds of things you can do or attend there including festivals or beautiful sights.
Banska Bystrica is often looked at as the heart of the country below the Tatras. There one of the most important memorials in Slovakia is located. It reminds the nation of the second world war and Slovak resistance to fascism.
We shall continue in our walk in the old streets of Brno. Last time we saw church of St Jacob and also saw the large Svoboda square formally known as Dolni Market. This busy triangle shaped square was pretty noisy and busy when we reached it.
On our trip we saw Spisske Podhradi last week. Also we climbed up castle hill to magnificent Spissky Castle. There we walked onto a yellow trail which akes us through unique nature around and also the town of Zehra.
Upon visiting Spilberk castle which the main sight in Brno we returned through Spilberk park back in Husova street. Opposite to the park there is a building of the Moravian Gallery, the second largest art museum in the Czech Republic.
This time we visit the east of Slovakia. Our destination aUNESCO landmarks. We are going to make our trip about history as well as tourism. We start at Spisska Nova Ves.
Through various of paths which are lined with broadleaved trees we reached Spilberk’s entrance gate. The castle is one of Brno’s most precious sights. It has stood on a hill of the same name since 13th century.

The Moravian metropolis greeted us by a nice sunny day. We set off for some sightseeing. First thing we saw was cathedral of St Peter and Paul.
When a Slovak hear the word chamois s/he first thinks of an animal which lives in the mountains. The other thing is a TV tower above the Slovakian capital. We are going to visit this sight today.
It has been a long time since our last visit to the second largest city in the Czech Republic – Brno. This historical “capital” of Moravia is located on the confluence of the Svratka and Svitava rivers. It has been an important center of culture, justice, and education.
Don’t be confused. Winter is the best season to watch underwater life. Pikes, pikeperches, crucians, and carps swim in clear water around you. A quarry in Mrakov, Domazlice region, is a great place for this activity.
We have already told you about our roaming through Prokopske and Dalejske valleys. Today we take you into another green oasis of the Czech Republic’s capital. We visit Troja, a neighborhood with multiple tourist attractions.
Last week we climbed Velky Rozsutec and intentionally walked around Janosik’s Holes (Janosikove Diery). This phenomena is so beautiful and unique we must devote one entire article to describe them. So today we see the most popular and most well-known tourist attraction in the Mala Fatra National Park.

This time we are not going to admire Prague's historical sights. Our goal is nature and the area surrounding Prokopske and Dalejske valleys.
Tourism is great in winter as well. And this was our motto for our trip to the Mala Fatra Mountains and its peak Velky Rozsutec, the dominant sight of the mountain range.
There are many historical, natural and cultural sights in the Slovakian capital. We see one such a gem today. It won’t be just one single sight or a natural reserve. It is going to be a whole neighborhood.
Once we saw all that is around the tower we moved inside. We also took a glimpse at 10 huge sculptures of crawling babies (so-called Mimina Babies). These were fixed on the tower in the year 2000.
Our journey across Czech Republic’s popular as well as less frequented spots we move to Prague. One of her most distinctive sights is the Zizkov TV Tower.
On one winter weekend we traveled to the region of Nitra. Our destination was the town of Podhajska. Its train station is located between Nove Zamky and Levice towns. The name comes from its location on southern slopes of the Pohronska Upland. Its hills sit on the flat and are covered with beautiful oak and locust groves.
We concluded our walk in Adamov at a restaurant. Then we set off to Josefovske Valley in the lower reaches of Krtinsky Stream about 3 kilometers away. There is a conservation area where one can learn on recent history of the territory
Once we took a look at parks, the singing fountain, or the underground of Main Street we move to city’s most famous sights.
In our journeys in the region of South Moravia we stopped at Adamov, a town situated 12 kilometers from Brno. Surrounded by forests the town is located on the confluence of the Svitava and Krtinsky creek. It has a population of 4.5 thousand.
The castle looming above Bratislava has four towers and it is hard to miss. Well, it would be a pity not to visit it. If only it was for the view over the city it would be worth it. It really does the city proud after its renovation in 2010. Inside, there are interesting historical exhibitions. Before getting inside, let’s walk up the hill and learn more about castle’s interesting history.
