The community of Bukovany has approx. 2000 inhabitants. It is situated not far from the town of Sokolov, Karlovy Vary Region, in an altitude of 440 metres above sea level. The village is surrounded, from its southern part, with mixed and pine forests, and it borders from western part, with former quarry of Libik-Medard.
The life exists, where the water springs. This proverb was valid hundred years ago but it is actual even now, despite the fact that it could be taken for different importance at present. In past, the houses and villages were situated along water sources, in order sufficient quantity of liquids could be secured for the people.
This cave is situated inside headland of Balcar Rock, close to subterranean flow of Lopač and Krasový brooks, in an altitude of 460 metres above sea level. Complicated many-storey cave system is furnished with rich stalactite decoration.
Kateřinská Cave is situated close to the community of Techov, South Moravia Region, in an altitude of 364 metres above sea level.
The town of Horní Blatná is placed not far from Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Region Karlovy Vary, in an altitude of 900 metres above sea level. Its historical nucleus belongs to most preserved towns of Iron Ore Mountains.
Mladeč Caves are composed from labyrinths of three subhorizon floors. Totally, 330 metres of corridors and halls are open for public. The caves are to be found in the community of Mladeč, Olomouc Region.
The community of Nový Oldřichov is situated in Česká Lípa district, Liberec Region, in an altitude of 370-550 metres above sea level. The village is placed between afforested hills, in an area of protected countryside of Bohemian Hihglands and Lužické Mountains, where Bystrá-river is flowing.
Punkva Caves got its name according to standing subterranean spaces of Punkva-river, between Macocha Abyss and Pustý (Punkva Žleb). The system of underground halls is placed in two levels (stages), situated in north direction from Brno, Moravian Karst, in an altitude of 355 metres above sea level.
Zbrašov Aragonite Caves are placed inside left slope of Bečva-river Valley, in Teplice nad Bečvou Spa, in an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. These caves of hydro-thermal origin are the only one in Czech Republic.
Berounka-river is not too interesting for watermen, it is calm flow which could even let asleep a Prince who would like to set free "The Sleeping Beauty". So, you cannot expect a lot of adrenalin experience. On the other hand, the river is very beautiful!
This town is full of tourists who come unceasimgly, in order to admire its beauties during days and nights. Central St.Marcus Square with a Basilica, narrow streets, town's traffic which becomes never silent, merry Italians, but mainly Canale Grande with numerous excursion boats, ships, steamers and gondols, all these are the temptations for those who decided to visit such fairytale romantic seat
District town of Sokolov is situated in the centre of Karlovy Vary Region, in an altitude of 401 metres above sea level. The town has rich hops-cultivation as well mining past, presence of rare ores, where even now the brown coal is excavating in quarries (in Sokolov Basin).
Javoříčko Caves consist of three-store system of tunnel corridors and big domes with precipices and chimneys, created by mens of erosive-rusty processes. The caves are situated in Olomouc Region, not far from the Town of Litovel.
Sedlčany is a town with rich history, documented just from the end of 10th century. Even James Krčín, one of most famous Bohemian fishermen, let his traces there. After 1580, he administrated the town and founded well known Svět and Rožmberk Ponds in South Bohemia.
Chýnov Cave, known as "Painted Cave" is placed in Pacova hora, not far from the community of Chýnov, in an altitude of 539 metres above sea level.
The community of Terchova (Slovakia) is ensnared with various legends, joined especially with George (Juraj) Janošík, local native. Nevertheless, hardly anybody of Slovakia or Czech Republic does not know "Brigand Captain" and his suite. At present, his existence is reminded with International Folklore Festival - "Janošík Days", the greatest one of such type in Slovakia.
The quarries "America" (close to Karlštejn) are the localities which temptate the people with its beauty, romanticism and also with some rate of danger, too. However, the entrance is not permitted to a place where the stone was excavated, just since the beginning of last century.
Small diversion from Muráň plainland did not disturbed at all the plans of our active holiday, which continues in Low Tatra Mountains. The distance from Brezno to a top of the massif, dominating with Ďumbier Peak, is not great.
The caves Na Pomezí, situated not far from the town of Jeseník, were discovered in 1949. After long years' investigations, total length of caves was stipulated to 1320 metres. This two-storeys cave system is characteristic with its sintre decoration, including big stalactites. As a speciality, it is a stalactite in a form of a heart, which could fullfill, at the touch, any your wish.
Common project of Hungarian-Slovak Cooperation, known as "Tours Without Borders", financed by means of European Fund of Regional Development, enables to make acquaintance with most interesting localities of East Slovakia and North-East Hungary. "A Trip Across Castles and Chateaux" belongs to one of them.

We definitively leave picturesque countryside of Slovak Paradise, and after visit of Dobšiná Ice Cave, we transfer towards Low Tatra Mountains, where our active holiday will continue. But, between Low Tatra and our starting position, you can find a region, the beauty of which could not be omitted in any case, and if you are not in a hurry, you can make a small branchline.
United project of Hungarian-Slovak cooperation enables to make acquiantance with most interesting localities of East Slovakia and North-East part of Hungary. Tourism Without Borders is a project, coo-financed by means of European Fund of Regional Development. One of several routes got the name „A Gothic Path“.
Everything has its end, so, the same situation was with our stay in a Paradise. This could be rather particular sentence in our relation about holiday activities. Nevertheless, now, we change ahead, in order to experience another adventures, to Dobšinská Ice Cave, drive throughout mysterious Muránska Table Land, and arrive finally to Low Tatra Mountains.
Jižní Město Quarter (South Town Quarter) in Prague is dwelling-house complex, constructed since 1970. It is true that all this area has its characteristic atmosphere, but despite such fact, you can find there several places which are, from cultural and historical point of view, worth to be visited. And just Chodov stronghold belongs to such points.
