CZ, Kladská – An Oasis of Tranquility in the Slavkov Forest – VIDEO

Not far from Marianske Lazne, in the heart of the Slavkov Forest, you will find one of the most beautiful places in Western Bohemia. There is a Swiss-style hunting lodge with a romantic nature trail through the peat bogs and around the unique ponds.

When Prince Schönburg-Waldenburg arrived in Kynžvart Baths at the end of the 19th century to take part in hunting in the local forests, he was so impressed by the landscape that he built a log cabin here in 1875 and five more have been built until the end of the century. . Thus he founded the tradition and fame of Kladsko.

During the visit you will be captivated mainly by the surrounding wild and rough nature. Deep forests with mountain spruces alternate peat bogs and beautiful meadows. If you are lucky, you will come across rare animals and plants. Birds live here - black grouse and capercaillie or our smallest owl, the smallest owl, the blueberry butterfly or the wolf spider, which lives directly in the peat bog. Carnivorous plants such as round-leaved sundew and penguin also testify to the environment.

Be sure to go through the entire Kladská nature trail, which will take you through the beautiful Kladská meadow, taiga and peat bogs, past Kladský Pond and two smaller ponds, Horní and Dolní Bahňák.

At the same time several tourist signs start in Kladská and you can extend your trip. Directly in Kladska you will find two great game restaurants. During my visit at the beginning of March I could not resist and stopped for lunch at the restaurant U Tetřeva. I will remember the stuffed quails with roasted carrots for a long time!

The Slavkov Forest is one of the neglected corners of our country. Its unique climate, harsh conditions, beautiful nature and proximity to several spa towns make it an excellent tourist destination. I always like to come back here and I definitely recommend visiting the region.

I get out of Pendolino on a beautifully renovatetrain station. This is how I imagine a gateway to the spa town - I wish there were all of them like this. From the station to the city center trolleybuses leave every twenty minutes. Its close by walk and I like to walk. Smaller houses gradually turn to magnificent villas and residences, the closer to the center, the more decorated.
