CZ: Relax Weekends in a Historical Environment

Baroque castle Loučeň is situated in Nymburk district around 60 kilometers northeast from Prague. Three aristocratic dynasties changed here during the history of the castle: Valdštejns, Fürstenberks and Thurn-Taxis. Besides that the castle had been visited by many famous historical personas such as Emperor Francis I , famous writer Mark Twain, poet Rainer Maria Rilke or composer Bedřich Smetana. Since 2000 a private company that made a complete reconstruction and got a new exhibition to work has owned the castle.

The castle offers several types of accommodation. You can choose one of three apartments in the castle, or you can choose an accommodation in a three-star hotel Maxmilián. Guests can also use convention center, swimming pool with a sauna and a restaurant where breakfasts are served. 11 labyrinths and mazes waits for you in a unique park in English style.

How you spend your relax weekend is entirely up to you. Dinner for two with candles in the castle’s hotel, and two hearty breakfasts brought into your room are already counted in the price. You have also free entrance into the swimming pool and sauna. You can also borrow bikes. A tour of castle’s interiors belongs to greatest attractions there – it is performed with a classic tour guide, a castle valet or even a prince.

Hotel Maltézský Kříž in the region of Karlovy Vary is another romantic place where you can spend a nice relax weekend. The four-star hotel was built in 1706 and it is located in the center of Karlovy Vary close to the river Teplá. Thanks to its characteristic façade with green window shutters the hotel is easily recognizable. In 2003 there had been a complete reconstruction that, however, preserved half-timbered masonry and mural paintings.

The hotel with its twelve rooms creates almost a family atmosphere. Rooms are bright and they have a nice view over the hotel’s surroundings. The rooms have also modern bathrooms with baths and showers. A free entrance to near Spa & Health Club TAWAN is a part of the stay. The club is located in Grandhotelu Pupp. Except for classic fitness center, sauna or Jacuzzi preventive and medical peels are available.
