CZ, Telč: A Bike Trip from Hladov to Telč

We start in Hladov, the village is within reach of the towns of Telč and Třebíč. It is an ideal place for exploring the southeastern part of the Highlands. Hladov is located 20 km from Jihlava in the direction of Znojmo, and therefore the local road is quite busy. We will go on a mountain bike from Hladovské rybník to Telč via field and forest roads. We are the first to go on a forest road to the village of Nepomuky. From here, the road will take us to the Vodnatý Pond to Dyjice and to our planned stop in Telč. Along the way, unfortunately, you will see fields of felled forests due to the bark beetle, which recently left a finished trigger in our forests. Unfortunately, the fight with the bark beetle is already an evergreen in the Vysočina region. And not only in the Highlands. Foresters all over the country are struggling with an inconspicuous beetle. Here one realizes how fragile the nature around us is.
Telč will enchant its visitors with a beautiful historic square lined with burgher houses with arcades. This gem has been on the UNESCO list since 1992. One of the main attractions of the city is the local castle, which is surrounded by a fairytale Renaissance garden, which will be breathtaking in autumn. In Telč you can see not only the castle with a Renaissance garden, park and greenhouse, but also the Museum of Vysočina, the church of St. James, the names of Jesus and St. Ducha, dormitory of St. Angels, Jesuit college and grammar school, gallery, Marian column, fountains, observation towers of St. James and St. Ducha, the city fortifications, the Upper and Lower Gates and burgher houses with arcades, but also the Old Town with the Church of the Mother of God and Baroque statues. And all this is surrounded by three ponds - Staroměstský, Ulický and Štěpnický. We return back via Mysliboř, Sedlejov and Nevcehle to Hladov.
This area is a variant and another ideal place to spend a pleasant holiday in our country. Telč is one of the most sought-after cultural destinations, among the centers of artistic and academic events, but at the same time it is surrounded by nature, to which it would be a shame not to go. Especially now that everything is closing. So try it on a bike, on a scooter or maybe just on your own and you won't regret it. Here you can be creative and compose the route according to your ideas.
