CZ, Trosky – Ruin in the Bohemian Paradise – VIDEO
The Trosky castle of the same name dates back to the 14th century. It was cleverly built between two volcanoes, on which are built towers that emphasize the monumentality of this exceptional mountain. The unmistakability of the ruins with which this pearl of the Bohemian Paradise enters the landscape attracts tourists from all sides.
We approach the castle along a quality, but in some places steep path from the parking lot, to which two hiking trails are added at the tourist cottage. We buy tickets right outside the gate and go on a tour. In the first courtyard, where there is also an impressive statue of a devil, the visit will be enriched by a falconer with his birds. It is also worth mentioning the buffet right at the gate to the next courtyard. In the second courtyard there are two shelters, between which we meet a group of jugglers, whose pieces you can also try.
From there we head first to the left to the higher Panna and climb the inner spiral stairs almost to the tower. However, the tower itself is inaccessible and no stairs or scaffolding lead to it. However, Baba makes us more happy, where we have to climb the external staircase, but we can see what it looks like between the walls, where the internal staircase leads us to the gallery. The view from Baba is charming. You can observe Ještěd, Ralsko, Milešovka, the whole Bohemian Paradise, and also the Giant Mountains.
We recommend combining a visit to Trosek with a trip around the area. Bohemian Paradise offers many places that you will like. For us, it is the nature trail Hruboskalsko, Turnov, Maloskalsko and the rock maze Chléviště.
