If you consider yourself a traveler who doesn't like travelling too much and don't like to travel great distances; or maybe your financial situation restrains you from seeing what you would like to than go to Budapest. Situated in central Europe this city has amazing atmosphere and is pleasure to look at.

The most beautiful vista is the one over the Danube basin. There is a promenade along the river's both banks. Also, you can climb up Gellert mountain and enjoy the vista over the city from up above. Don't let the word mountain fool you. It is not difficult to climb it up. There are several scenic stops. On the very top, there is the Citadel. The vista there, hoewver, is more interesting.

Notice Margaret Island on the Danube. It is easy to access by one of the many bridges. It is quite large regarding its area. Its many parks give you opportunity to relax, or do some sport activities. Visit a small zoo or walk through Japanese gardens. Simply sitting on a bench there is not bad as well. The old water tower which you can see on the island is a sight protected by UNESCO.

Budapest

One of the best attractions in Budapest is Buda Castle. This major sight sits on a hill and is protected by UNESCO. You can get up to the castle by various means - by cable car, or just walk up asphal road. Both options are enjoyable. You will like the amazing Baroque-style structure at the first sight. On the compound, there is the Museum of History and the Hungarian National Gallery. Both are worth paying attention to.

Do you consider yourself an active person who loves to wonder around in a city? Then do so and maybe you will enter amazing ZOO with a large fish tank. This is a very popular attraction for children. People who prefer relax over too much activity, can go to thermal baths. There is a lot to do. Budapest is a gem which actually close to our borders. By going not far from home you will experience great things.
