Indonesia, Nusa Penida – Untouch Paradise Near Bali
Right when you arrive, rent a scooter, if you don't take your bike on boat (which is charged). Without bike, it is quite strenous to get around on the island. You better book your accommodation one night ahead at least to be sure that you have a place where to sleep. In case you are experienced traveler with enough cash you can find somewhere to sleep right there. You don't have to study book guides. It is better if you just talk to locals who are very friendly and tell you where to make trips to. Maybe then offer you their scooter and their guides.
The vista over Thousand Islands (Atuh Raja Lima) near Atuh Beach is the best experience you can have. But be careful to not to miss it. The road here is more or less laid with asphalt. Secure stairs with a rope rail go down to the beach. You can stay at straw cabins in tree tops. However, you need to book one of these in advance.
Would you like to see giant oceanic manta ray without having to dive? Broken Beach is a place where you often can see these elgant creatures swimming around. Just stand on a rock and wait patiently. If lucky, a manta shows you its white fin. Also, you may spot turtles. But be careful because there is no good path going to this beautiful place. The walkway is not fortified and large boulders are scattered along it. But don't give up. Even if you had to walk for some while. Once there, have a cup of coffee. Surprisingly, even the less accessible areas have snack bars there.
Angel's Billabong nature pool is situated very close to Broken Beach it is quite hidden from sight. This emerald pool among cliffs gest is filled with sea water during high tide. Swimming there is just amazing. The contrast of calm water and wild sea below you is just great. Moreover, high saltiness of water here makes you float even more than the sea itself. During high tide and strong waves it is forbidden to swim here.
Kelingking Beach offers amazing vista. Beautiful sandy beach, a rock resembling a hand, and crystal clear sea. So, why there is nobody on the beach sunbathing? The path down is very difficult. Most tourist simply enjoy the vista. Right next to the entrance, you can have lunch for they cook really well there.
The east coast of Nusa Penida is famous for its Atuh Beach. There are two ways leading there; one is steep following stairs and the other strenous as it is not markeed in any map. The beach is surroudned by high cliffs. Sand is smooth and up from the sea rises beautiful rock formation. Several parasols and sunbeds as well as snacks are scattered across the beach as well.
Crystal Bay is a very pleasant place to snorchl diving. Here you spend more time underwater than on the beach. Being under water is like to be in a huge aquarium. Many fish of all different colors, including the notorious Nemo from the Pixar movie, and sea turtles. Lay down and relax. It's paradise here…
