Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Milan)

From the city center from the cathedral we headed for Via Monte Napoleone, perhaps the most famous and most luxurious street in the city. Via Monte Napoleone is one of the most prestigious streets in the world compared only to the likes of Champs Elyséss in Paris or 5th Avenue in New York.

It is the most important fashion street in Milan, home to world fashion designers and jewelers. On the inscription labels you will find famous brand names such as Hugo Boss, Camper, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Emporio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Gucci and many others. Together with Via della Spiga, Via Sant'Andrea and Via Pietro Verri make up a fashion quarter of Italian called Quadrilatero della moda.

The fact that the city is among the richest shows the prices in these stores of the most famous brands, which we are afraid to step into. He does not even let you go without a special customer card. But some city visitors are heading here for shopping on this street. It is enough for us to go through the atmosphere to get around and watch the world-famous brands. In addition, for the lovers of history, we recommend visiting Palazzo Morando on Sant'Andrea Street, where you will learn not only about Milan's history but also about fashion.

In addition to the most fashionable pieces of clothing in this city you will find the latest, most luxurious and most up-to-date pieces for interiors. Stories showing design news from the area of furniture and living are on Via Durini. This street is the heart of design, the most renowned shops of furniture and design, or design and architectural studios.

One of the leading Italian brands with modern furniture is the B & B Italia. Accessories from Antonio Citterio and Partners have their own Moooi brand. It is also the producer of original contemporary Cassino furniture. Many of these furniture designs are in the collections of leading museums and in the world's finest furnished interiors. They also have reproduction rights on some of the designs by world-renowned designer Le Corbusier. Here you will find furniture from the most important designers of the 20th century, including Gerrit T. Rietveld, Charles R. Mackintosh, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Charlotte Perriand.

We walk along these shops and look through the interpretation of the seats, chairs, chandeliers, and tables. Even if you do not shop, you can at least find some inspiration here.

From this part of the city, which is synonymous with elegance and high fashion, through Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, where you will also find a number of fashionable brands, we return back to the center of the cathedral. From here Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II passage leads to La Scala on Scala Square.

This indoor modern passageway with two glass vaulted arcades connect these two important squares of Milan will surely attract your attention. Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II built by Giuseppe Mengoni (1865-1877), named after the first king of united Italy.

Right here in the city center, you will see vibrant life. Milanians hide here from rain only to drink a glass of Campari with soda and yet they are on a busy promenade. Nor here you will avoid the showcases of famous brands, and the Art Nouveau Bar Zucca or the stylish culinary restaurant Il Savini are worth visiting.

Passing through this passage, in addition to the shiny windows, you will surely be attracted by the glass and iron cupola that overlaps the passage streets at their crossing point at a height of 47 m. Do not forget to look at the floor made of marble mosaic which depicts  the coat of arms of the main Italian cities. In one coat of arms people stop and gather a little more than elsewhere. A bull with scarred sexual organs is the symbol of Torino, according to the legend, if you turn three times on one leg on the bull's genitals,  you will be very happy.
