SK, Čierny Balog – Čiernohorská Railway III: Vydrovo – VIDEO

If you want to experience as much as possible on theČiernohorská railway, hurry up on the first morning train so that you have enough time to explore and relax. With increasing time at the station, more and more passengers who also want to take a train and enjoy a walk through the Vydrovské valley.

The Čierny Balog - Vydrovo line is not only one of the first accessible sections of the Čiernohorská Railway, but it is also the most visited. A diesel locomotive with tourists has been running on this four-kilometer line since May 1, 1992. It pulls a number of different cars, consisting of several old train sets. If you have a stroller, use a special wagon, in the past served as a dining. The entrance to it is not barrier-free, but the wider door allows you to lift the stroller or wheelchair and load it into the car.

The dispatcher whistled and the train left the station in Čierny Balog. Along the road and the creek that line the houses of the local village, he headed for the forests, where wood was once mined. Today, this place has turned into an open-air museum, reminiscent of the history of work in the forest and also the economic and environmental significance for society. Of course, the forest railway also fits into this concept, because it was a part of it and a great advantage in logging in the 20th century.

Not only can you feel the forest breeze in your hair through the open windows of the cars, but you also have the opportunity to see something from the open-air museum. This quick tasting entices you to learn more during a pleasant walk along one of the nature trails.

The train heads to the final stop in the middle of the forest, but if you do not want to start your exploration here, or continue on foot to the old hunting lodge, then wait. The train returns, stopping at individual stops where you can get off.

Tickets are return, so even if you interrupt the ride, you can continue on the next stop on one of the other trains. You don't have to come back for lunch at all, as the open-air museum offers visitors the opportunity to dine in the restaurant.
