SK, Zavar: A Town With a Classicist Chuch_ – VIDEO

The village of Zavar is located 8 km from Trnava, on the eastern edge of the Trnava loess board. The first written mention dates from 1255. In the village there are many sacred monuments and interesting objects from history. The most attractive ones certainly include the Classicist chateau, the new church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary from 1907 and the birth house of the composer Gejza Dusík.
You can get to the village of Zavar by train, eg from Trnava, by car, bus or bicycle. The village borders Križovany nad Dudváhem on the one hand and the villages of Dolné Lovčice on the other. First we will visit the statue of St. Anny. It has been renovated and lighting has been added, enhancing the dignity and respect for this sacred monument.
You will reach the stone cross along Sportovní Street. Unfortunately, I did not know the age of this monument, because the inscription on the pedestal is illegible. At the municipal office there is a monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars. On the marble slabs you will find the names of fallen soldiers tortured in concentration camps and those killed in the SNP.
A life-size bronze statue of St. Florian is also close to the monument. This very nice work with the mentioned year of renovation (2009) is an ornament of the whole village. St. Florian is the patron saint of firefighters and rescuers.
At the end of the village Zavar, towards the village Dolné Lovčice, you can stop for a moment at the local cemetery, where you will certainly be "addressed" by the statue of St. Barbara, whose dynamic structure is composed of three arches, which are connected at a height of 3 meters.
The dominants certainly include the neo-Gothic church from 1907. It is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and decorated with a tower and four turrets. On the sides of the church there are two sacral objects, namely the statue of the Holy Family and the column of the Holy Trinity. On the wall of the church you will find a mission cross. Next to the cross is a memorial plaque dedicated to the administrators of the church. It was unveiled in 2008 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the consecration of the church. Behind the church is the Stations of the Cross with 14 stops.
In order for the walk through the monuments of the village of Zavar to be complete, we must mention the church from the beginning of the 19th century. Its reconstruction combined with the expansion in 1894 makes it a kind of symbol of the village. It is also called the Majláth Church. Today, the home of social services for adults is located here.
My last stop is the birth houseof Gejza Dusík, music composer and founder of Slovak operetta. On the front of the house is a circular memorial plaque with a bust of Master Dusík and his date of birth.
In addition to the mentioned monuments, there is also a former Válcový mill in the village, which now houses a restaurant, and you can relax, for example, in the newly built park with a fountain. The village of Zavar combines history and modernity with a functional infrastructure.
In the future, the municipality plans to build a cycle path that will connect Zavar with the village of Dolné Lovčice, which will further increase its attractiveness. I recommend everyone who is planning trips around Trnava to visit this village.
The city of Trnava is located in the central part of Trnavian Highlands. From historical point of view, it is one of the most interesting cities in Slovakia. Lets join us in exploration of this city. Since ancient times, trade routes crossed it, rulers changed and breathtaking sacral buildings were erected.
This time we will go approximately 45 km northeast of Bratislava to the medium-sized village of Pusté Úľany. The village in the Trnava region offers to see several interesting historical monuments.
Pavlice is one of the picturesque villages in the Danubian Lowland. They stretch on the eastern edge of the Trnava Uplands, surrounded by meadows, woods and fields intersected by the Gidra Stream. Over 500 inhabitants enjoy rural life with all the joys and sorrows. Today we will visit this village and we ourselves are curious what it will offer us.
South of Trnava (13 km) by the Gidra stream lies the village of Voderady. In the past, it belonged to the Bratislava county, but for the time being it is part of the Trnava region.
The village of Šúrovce is located on the fertile Danubian lowland between Váh and Dudváh near the town of Sereď. The village with more than 2,300 inhabitants is only 12 km away from the district town of Trnava. The village was created by merging the original villages of Veľké Šúrovce, Valtov Šúr, Varov Šúr and Zemianske Šúrovce.
Northwest of the regional city of Galanta (approximately 13 km) is the village of Abraham. Its immediate neighbors are the villages of Pavlice, Majcichov, Hoste, Velká and Malá Mača, Sládkovičovo and Pusté Úlany.
Today we will visit one of the oldest villages in the district of Trnava - Vlčkovce. They are less than 10 km away from the regional town and thanks to their location they were in the past, as today, an important crossroads between Trnava and Nitra.
In the southwestern part of Slovakia, approximately 50 km from Bratislava, lies the town of Galanta. Although it is a small town in terms of its area, it offers visitors a lot of interesting things in terms of monuments and history.
Each village has something special, interesting and pleasing to the eye in its territory. All you have to do is walk through the streets and you will be convinced that this is no different in Križovany nad Dudváhom, which is mainly represented by painted statues. So let's go for a walk through this beautiful village.
The village of Brestovany lies in the northwestern part of the Danube Plain, only 10 km from the district town of Trnava at an altitude of 140 to 150 meters. The cadastral area consists of parts of Velká Brestovany, Malá Brestovany and Horní Lovčice.

The Trnava region is located in the western part of the Slovak Republic. The area is the second smallest, but it offers more than enough tourist attractions. One week later, we return again to the Trnava region, more precisely to the surroundings of Skalice. We will visit the popular tourist boat route, we will also go to the unique car racetrack and end the walk through this region on the wine (cycle) road.

Slovakia is a country that is characterized not only by beautiful nature, but also by a number of sacred monuments. It is a pity that they are overlooked by the number of tourists who come here. Therefore, I decided that at least in this form I will acquaint visitors to the villages of Boleráz and Klčovany with these monuments, their significance and the reason for the settlement.
