US, Ohio: Columbus – Zoo and Botanical Garden
A very popular and grateful place to go with children is certainly the local zoo and aquarium - Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The zoo, which covers almost 300 hectares, is home to many animals. You will see representatives of all continents here, together with over 10,000 animals.
Velmi oblíbeným a vděčným místem, pokud cestujete s dětmi, je zcela jistě místní zoo a akvárium – Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Zoologická zahrada, která pokrývá plochu téměř 300 hektarů, je domovem pro mnoho zvířat. Uvidíte zde zástupce všech kontinentů, dohromady přes neuvěřitelných 10 tisíc zvířat.
You can enhance your experience by enjoying a rich side program. To make your choice a little easier, it does not give us an insight into the backstage where you will learn about animal breeders' work. You will see the infirmary, for example, and what you do when a tiger hurts or a snake has a cold. You will get to the top-of-the-line office where you can take care of almost any animal.
If you are looking for unusual experiences, we recommend staying overnight in the zoo. There are fewer people here in the evening and you can see animals behaving after sunset. There is also an evening snack, commented night tour, breakfast and guided tour in the morning. The zoo will surely surprise you with some other activities.
The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens are just a short walk away. Here myriad flowers of hundreds of species from all over the world are to be seen. In large greenhouses you will find a tropical rain forest, a collection of orchids or a desert flora. Various exhibitions such as Blooms and Butterflies in Spring are often held here.
We will continue our sightseeing trip to The Center of Science and Industry, which will awaken in you the child's amazement over the world of science. You will learn about space, energy, dinosaurs and many other areas. Perhaps the best of all is the gigantic planetarium, where you will feel like you are somewhere in the desert at night and watching the stars.
We will end today with a delicious stop on the North Market. In addition to buying something to eat, it's a great way to get to know the local daily life. You can look forward to a varied range of homemade breads or a small bistro with Indian, Vietnamese, German, Nepalese or Japanese cuisine.
