Next part of our travels starts on the north of the island. It is at Eyjafjördur fjord, the place where the second largest city on Iceland is located – Akureyri. It is a nice city, rich, and full of students. It is really worth seeing. However, our long drive to Vatnsnes peninsula was not very impressive.

There is no road to the Alaskan capital, Juneau. This is the only reason why it is a relatively non-traditional location. You can get here either by boat or by plane. It is located on a mainland promontory in the south of the state and is separated from the Pacific Ocean by a network of islands. Despite its remoteness, Juneau is a popular and attractive tourist destination with a large selection of interesting natural sites, which is clearly dominated by the Mendenhall Glacier (about 20 kilometers northwest of Juneau).

Jakuszyce village is situated in the Jizerske Mountains but in Poland, mere six kilometers by E65 road from Harrachov to Szklarska Poreba. People who love historic landmarks will be probably disappointed but people who love relax and sport will love it there. In the summer season, bikers can make a use of a vast network of trails as well as walkers. In the winter season, high altittude and climate make the area around Jakuszyce a great place for cross-country skiers. They can ride on 100 kilometers of ski trails of varied difficulties. These cross-country tracks in Poland are connected to tracks in the Czech Republic.
