We imagined the visit to the lake as relaxing time after quite a busy day. The reality was seriously different from our expectations. I have remembered the first impression until today. Near Pilsen, in the small town of Plasy, there is a cistercian monastery founded by Vladislav II. In 1421, however, the Hussites burned it down. The Baroque appearance of the monastery and adjacent buildings is the work of the architects Jan Blazej Santini-Aichel and Jean Baptist Mathey, who from 1661 to 1739 led the rebuilding works of the monastery to the form we may see today.
