The road from Uyuni to Potosí takes mere three hours. It would be nothing less but a sin not looking from the window. The road goes up hill when leaving flat desert region. It crosses low yet beautiful Rainbow Mountains. The land has still features of desert. It is quite dry and without large vegetation Lamas and nandas could be spotted along the road.

Published: 15.10.2016
We set off to Ngorongoro National Park as early as at 7 a.m. Prior to that, however, we take a groupd picture with the guards of our camp (the Maasai). Our driver, the always smiling Little John, is already waiting for us. Heavy rains left traces on the land slightly before our arrival. We are travelling for about an hour and suddenly we reach the gates of the national park. There is even a visitors’ center. There you can learn a lot of information about the park and its inhabitants. It is nice to see pictures of birds with captions, detailed information on fauna and flora and everything else that might be interesting for you.

Norway: The Land of Fjords I – VIDEO
Published: 11.10.2016
Sweden and Norway are Nordic countries situated on the Scandinavian peninsula which gives the country its cahracteristic features. The main natural attraction in the country are fjords cutting deep into the mainland. There are many such fjords in Norway. Areas without water are regions where many lakes are located. Or you can stumble upon some beautiful hilly area, plateau, deep forests or mountain ridge with a glacier. Nature is not the only thing worth of visiting. The two largest cities too – Oslo and bergen. The north of the country tourists usually avoid. If you seek to be on some remote place alone this would be the best choice.

Bolivia – Uyuni and Salt Pan
Published: 10.10.2016
Our plans receive significant blow once we found out at the terminus in Cochabamba that bus driving companies are on strike. This is nothing unusual in Bolivia. We spending there our second week and we happen to see second one. However, inhabitants and employees have good attitude towards it and they are hardly annoyed. We have ben told several times that such a strike lasts about three days at least. The last bus departs at 18:00 from the terminus. And then the strike begins! Some bus lines moved some were entirely closed. The same goes for the line to Potosi, our next stop. Therefore, we have to change plans in the last minute and take the last bus to Uyuni.

Tanzania: Wild Animals at Hand II – Safari, Hurey!
Published: 8.10.2016
So we got some basic knowledge last time. Finally, can we set off. Upon entrance to the park we spotted a herd of elephants. There often peaked baby elephants among grown-ups. Our vehicle was riding slowly on dusty roads. Sometimes he braked slightly. Thus, we could take pictures easily. I would like to make a remark of one classy new feature – there are electrical plugs in the car. Therefore, we can charge our cameras, phones, etc. Usually, there are six people on a safari ride. You have to take turns at charging. Fortunately, there were only two of us – me and my daughter. It was much more pleasant.

Published: 6.10.2016
Near Engelberg town in central Switzerland, there are sevreal Alpine summits. We decided to climb up Brunni mountain to reach Brunnihütte (1860 m), a point of interest we intended to see. You can do the entire trail on foot. However, a cable car will save you considerable energy (but not money). Choosing a slower pace you will climb the entire mountain easily especially had you as good weather conditions as we did.

Bolivia – Torotoro National Park
Published: 3.10.2016
The fastest and easiest way to get to Torotoro village from La Paz is by night bus from Cochabamba. There you transfer to colectivo (local form of public transportation. We wonder through the terminus in Cochabamba at 5:45. A lady at the information stall is even more sleepy than we are. Yawning she told us that we have to go to another terminus. The only buses depart at 6 a.m. Therefore, we need to hurry. A cab driver makes use of it. Therefore, we take a two minute ride with him to the adjacent district. It is dark there. We get off at a garage. He says to a group of people idling at a van that he brings two foreigners. For this he receives 15 BOB (55 Czech Koruna) and put a smile on his face.

Bolívia – La Paz
Published: 26.9.2016
La Paz interested me the most of all places in Bolivia. I have always considered its unusual altitude interesting. I have always thought about how people live at 3600 meters of altitude. After I have spent some time at these altitudes in Ecuador or Peru, I have found out it is not hard at all. One gets simply used to it. Still, La Paz is quite a phenomena among large world cities for how high it is located. The city looks like it lays in a crater. Brick houses are built on slopes. It seems organized. Once you get closer, it is chaos of streets and houses-in-progress. There are high-rise buildings among historical structures down in downtown. It is quite an interesting mix. People travel by cable cars which simulate rapid-train system or subway. It is the fastest way how to get form one edge of the city to another.
