Sweden, Between Göteborg and Stockholm III. – Lush Nature and Traditional Products of Sweden
Published: 10.1.2016
While travelling along coastal trail from Ljungskile to Uddevalla, we saw Halle-Hunneberg forests, Västergötland region. It was tiresome to carry heavy backpacks which in turn didn’t bring us much joy when travelling. Therefore, we left them at a visitors’ center.

China, Studies: Beijing – Packing and Getting Lost
Published: 9.1.2016
We survived the trip on the Great Wall of China. We liked it but ahead would be waiting pre-departure preparations. We were busy packing, me and B. As it turned out, packing one year worth of life in China to one coffer is far from easy and takes much more than just one afternoon. Therefore, I took T and P to their guest house and left them to take care of themselves.

Sweden, Between Göteborg and Stockholm II. – Deep into the North
Published: 3.1.2016
We commenced the hiking part of our Swedish journey “deep in the north”. It was in the territory of Bohuslän which is eleven hours from Göteborg. Prices are same in Sweden as in the Czech republic. Nominally, at least. The most expensive part of our journey is travelling itself (had you your own food from the Czech Republic). However, there are many train and bus lines in the country.

China, Studies: Beijing – The Red-Hot Wall
Published: 2.1.2016
We managed climbing up the hill very well. We walked through a small village. Some watched us, some obviously had met tourists efore and waved at us. Once we reached a crossroad we suddenly saw its contours. And we also recognized contours of a small shop at the crossroads. It wasn’t overpriced. Surprisingly. We refilled our water and sugar supplies (popsicles). If there exists something like an addiction on popsicles, I was an addict in China.

Indonesia: No, It Did Not Burn Down II – Java: Karimunjawa National Park
Published: 28.12.2015
In our last article you learned more about Mt Muria, the holy mountain. We got there accidentally as we had different reasons why we traveled to Muria peninsula. There is a ferry on the northwestern coast (it departs from Jepara town) and it transports passengers to Karimunjawa National Park. We set aside two days because the ferry can cancel its trip due to huge waves. However, even two days extra were not enough.

Sweden, On the Road between Göteborg and Stockholm I – Göteborg
Published: 27.12.2015
Eighteen kilogram backpack on our backs were bent me and Dominika down at a station. We were looking forward to Swedish dream, a month worth of travelling on our own. A yellow bus was the means of our transport from Brno to Göteborg. After almost 20 hours of comfortable ride we got off the bus to see seagulls, ferry two ferry boats and cranes idling at the port. Visitor centers were buoys giving us always necessary information in the Swede’s second largest city. The first thing we actually did there was a visit at one such a center. Maps, leaflets, information – this is tourist’s fodder. One even doesn’t realize how remote is the land he trod on. Especially when passersby smile at him/her when he/she asks for directions. The smiles were still there regardless where we were.

China, Studies: Beijing – To the Wall!
Published: 26.12.2015
Our great journey was about to end. But at that moment it still seemed we would travel for couple of more weeks. Imagine a group of four ragged students waiting for a bus while sitting on cobble stone. We were hoping for it to come any minute… Yeah, any minute…

We took a train from Lijiang 丽江 Kunming 昆明, the capital of Yunnan province 云南. We stayed there for couple of days. Eventually we were even glad we managed to buy flight tickets because it was a last minute buy as we had been waiting for them to become cheaper.

We set off early in the morning with a long way ahead of us. We are looking forward to a lake cruise. In 1873 the first steam boat Emperor Franz Joseph I had set sails on the lake and cruises have been made there ever since. The steam boat was a technical marvel the then. It is 33 meters long and also was used as a propriety in couple of movies because it allegedly looks romantic. You can also take a ride by this boat as it is still part of the fleet.
