Spring was coming soon which lured us to the nature outside Beijing. “Why don’t you go to the Sidu river 十渡?“ one teacher–friend told us. The description suggested it is beautiful there: allegedly „Guilin桂林 of the north“. It is a vast karst area covering 300 km² in north China. This area was formed by the Tu-ma river. Sidu literally means “ten fords”. Today the fords are replaced with modern bridges yet they say the place has still some magic in it.

SK, Bratislava: Modern City with Historical Downtown -VIDEO

Bratislava is the capital and the largest city in Slovakia. The Danube flows through this city. Five bridgest (well, technically four today as the Stary Bridge is being disassembled only to be replaced with a new one). The most interesting si the SNP bridge built in the 20th century. There are couple of distributaries going to nowhere yet surrounded with riparian forests. Bratislava borders two countries – Hungary and Austria.

I spent two day in the High Tatras while on my way from Kosice and east Slovakia. I was lucky to spend there the most beautiful days of autumn. Even though sun shined only in the morning the weather was very good. It did not rain, snow, and it was not cold nor hot. Perfect when you go to mountains.

I get up at 6 already. Yesterday I forget to charge my equipment so I have to do it now. More of us had the same idea. I still ponder whether to participate in hike or not. Eventually together with drivers and other great group that we will have a rest day today.

Not long ago we visited silent part of Bratislava near the historic center. It is not visited very much by tourists. Inhabitants of Bratislava, however, love this location. Today we continue along the Hlboka Road. We will visit the Church of Our Lady of the Snows situated right above the Lurdska Cave.

After a nice walk in the Tuileries Garden we continued to Louver we wanted to see so much. It was supposed to be a conclusion of our tour in Paris. Yet before we got to Louvre we went to the Seine to see the bridge that is a symbol of love, wishes, and friendship.

After a couple of hours in the train, I arrive in the terminus of Budapest Keleti Pályaudvar. Right the main hall of the train station inspires me to take out my camera from the backpack. It is a pity that one would not see here a steam engine. It must have been beautiful. A stay here for two nights prior my flight to Sri Lanka. I am lucky because I managed to get pleasant accommodation in the city center via AirBnb. It costs only 300 crowns a night...

Alarm at 7,30. We have to leave cabins until 8,30. As always, I bought a good book guide and read it. In introduction, there was: “Despite you can travel by boat, we recommend it only to experienced sailors with tough stomachs. Gale is strong on the route as well as storms and waves of the Atlantic."
