Albania, Albanian Riviera – Relaxing on the Beach and Beautiful Nature – VIDEO
The area is situated in Vlorë region. It includes the entire coastline stretching from Llogara national park to the town of Lukovë, or a larger town ofš Sarandë, or even to the border with Greece. A road in, for Albania, good condition runs along the entire coastline. Hence, it is easy to get here from the capital or from the harbor, if you travel by ferry from the island of Corfu, Greece.
Tourist infrastructure here belongs to one of the best in whole Albania and it has been constantly improven upon.
What else is on the riviera besides beautiful beaches and azure sea? In case you travel from the north, be ready for long hairpin turns of Llogara national park made by Top Gear TV show. The vista from the highest point of the beach is a one long to remember.
Further down south, you can stop by in many beautiful coastal villages featuring historic churches, charming centuries old houses. Among them, we would liek to mention Palasë village. It has been said that even Julius Caesar landed there once.
Once grow tired of relaxing on the beach or touring towns around, there are plenty oportunities where to go into nature. Llogara is a beautiful park which is worth visiting. Or, for instance, you can set off to Karaburun peninsula or Gjipë canyon.
However, you may set off for an interesting trek from almost any village. Mountains line almost the entire coastline. Don't forget to plan your trek well and return on time. Unfortunately, there are almost no tourist signs in Albania's south.
During my travels across Albania, I only passed the riviera and spent there only two days. However, if you want your vacation to be easy, you may like to stay there for a longer period of time.
