Georgia – Mestia and Trips Around
The symbol of Mesita is a stone defensive tower of koshkebi, which stands here several dozen. Most of them were built between the 9th and 13th centuries and served the villagers as a hiding place for raids by foreign armies. Today some of them serve as church towers and others are surrounded by newer houses. There are plenty of places to stay, but you will pay a bit. They just want to settle for the alpine towns here.
Our important point of interest within the city is a visitor's center located near the central park. There is a spring of mineral water, there is a town hall, a café, and there are no ATMs on every corner. At the infocenter we draw maps and we can go. Our plan is clear, we'll go to Koruldi Lakes. Walking back and forth is a day-long trip, but if you want, you can drive to the car.
And so we went ahead to have new adventures. The road is really wild, clinging like a snake and has lots of holes and deep holes. But when we met a few tourists, we were glad to get married. A little below the summit, however, stopped the snow, so we continued on foot. The journey lasted for about an hour, but we did not see the lake as it was under the snow. But views in the wider neighborhood were worth it. From the top, everything is so different, the incredible tranquility, beautiful nature, pointed rocks and high hills ...
After this trip, however, you will have time for one stop at the Chalati Glacier. This trek is unpretentious, and you can drive along the Mestiachal River all the time. The path is unpaved, but it does well. You have to park at the rope bridge, then walk down the glacier. The way back and forth is up to two hours. He runs through the woods, then along the wild river and eventually walks along the marked path between the stones. You will walk through the trail creek where the glacier used to be, and with the gradual melting of the ice goes on and on. On some boulders it is recorded where the ice was in certain years..
Both of these tourist trails are simply beautiful. You will need at least two days to walk through the city and to make trips to the surrounding area.
