Italy Once - Italy Again! VII.

This return drive, frankly speaking, is nothing to be envied, despite the fact that the journey would be divided into two days, and will be accommodated somewhere in Lombardy, in order to make a stop in some of the towns, such as: Modena, Parma, Cremona, however, Ferrara is rather distant. Nevertheless, you are recommended to pass the night in Italy, before you reach Austrian border.

So, as the ideal possibility, provided you could have some reserve of time, we wish to recommend you to have a stop in some small boarding house at Lago di Garda, and one day have a stop there. Without exaggeration, this area belongs to most beautiful places in Italy, and you would really loose a lot when you miss such locality. So, this lake, originally of glacier origin at extent of 370 square kilometres, is wedged into marvellous countryside. From there, you have an excellent view towards Dolomiten. The lake is surrounded with hotels, boarding houses and camping places, from the highest to acceptable price level. So, you would have, for sure, an excellent experience. When you continue your drive to the north, you can fully enjoy, along your right hand, very nice views towards bays and holiday resorts. But the driver would be more concentrated, and pay attention to the way, and make a stop in rest area, the road has many curves, with tunnels, so that you cannot be injured with stones, falling from upstairs.

So, when you definitely left Italy, you would also enjoy the roads through Alps, leading in Austria. It is obvious that a couple of rambling motorcycles with Italian plates will surpass you, but these boys know very well what they would allow, and you are not menaced, for sure. Great rocky formations guard you along both parts of the road, the shades of which look like as abstract pictures.

So, you are driving ahead on highway, with a knowledge that you had very nice Italian holiday. It is a conviction, this was not your first holiday in this country, but let´s trust, also the last one, just exactly to the slogan. Italy once, Italy again.

So, when you will take over at home your photos from digital apparatus to your computer, including those,made quickly from your mobil phone, would you mark in the map, what you have seen this time, and what would you like to see for the next time and did not seen. We are sure that some localities in Lombardy remained, and are waiting for you, not speaking about a fact, that this time you missed Venice. So, the visit of such town will be reserved for the next time, but earlier when Venice would not disappear in the sea.

Everything which was described above, would be a suggestion for a choice of your routes, not some fixed itinerary plan. On the other hand, this is real and examined way, how to enjoy fully your drive throughout Italy. So, you will have time enough to absorb all experience from historical monuments and have a rest in a lounge or at sea waves. If you manage to add some more days, it would be quite simple. There will be no problem to prolong your stay in localities you like, and the accommodation will be a starting point for short excursions (as we made in Alba). And you will return to your boarding house similarly as into Italian home.
