Kenya - African Green Paradise III.

During centuries, this small village in oasis changed into one of most beautiful African capitals. So, to sighseeings of Nairobi belong, no doubt, so called Clock Tower, situated directly in city centre, further modern Business Centre, Parliament Building with Jomo Kenyatta Mausoleum (1891-1978), the first President of Kenya, National Archives Building, Indian Quarter, (including tens of marvellous Hindu churches), many Mosques, St. Marcus Orthodox Coptic Church, Sikh Church, Railway Museum, National Museum (containing beautiful antropologic collection), „Snake Park“, which offers traditional national meals, and also Langata Giraffe Centre as well as
Nairobi National Park.
Close to Nairobi, famous Rift Valley is to be found. It is great African geological break - one of most interesting tectonical areas of our planet. It is gigantic hollow, several hundreds of kilometres wide, bordered with breaks and extincted volcanos. You can find there tens of lakes, whereas each of them is unique from its physical as well as chemical water dimensions, fauna and flora.
At foot of Longonot Mountain, in the altitude of 1880 metres above sea level, you can find Naivasha, holy lake of Masai clans. Along the banks, more than 340 sorts of birds, and great population of hippopotamuses is living.
In Crescent Island, rare African eagle is nesting. On the other hand, the environs of exctincted Longonot volcano, was changed into small reservation. Baringo Lake belongs to most remoted areas of the country. It is a home for more than 400 sorts of birds and many kinds of fish. In the distance of 156 kms from Nairobi, you can find Nakuru Lake, famous with its many millions broods of pink flamingos, Lake Nakuru Park, Daman Hill archaeologic finding place and the oldest rhinoceros „kinder-garden“ in Kenya.
In the same area, Bogoria Lake, one of most beautiful African lakes, is to be found.
Turkan Lake is taken for one most salted lakes of the world. Nevertheless, this fact does not prevent rich submarine life. You can meet there gigantic Nile perches, including many other sorts of fish, as well as the greatest crocodile population of the country. Magadi Lake is placed in an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level, in south direction from capital, not far from Tanzania frontier. This lake is famous for its unique water composition. It contains so many of sodium that the life for all animals in the lake is impossible. Despite this fact, the gigantic flamengo population is living there, and tens of animal sorts are staying along the banks of the lake.
