SK, Ruzomberok – Cutkovska Valley

Cutkovska valley is easy to access by an asphalt road with well-done road marking. There are recently built shepherd's huts offer both accommodation as well as snacks to buy. There are parking lots, recreation and sporting faclities, and Obrovo theme park featuring trampolines, monkey bars, and other attractions for children.

The valley makes one of the gateways to the Velka Fatra  national park. Surrounded by beautiful forests, a river which goes by the same name flows through it. Visitors may see local agricultural animal farms – sheep, goats, cows and in addition to that wild  pigs. Among some other animals being bred here is poultry or trouts living in a small lake within the compound.

Also, there is a chapel, bakery, gift shop, and the so called Giant's flannel. The latter attraction is a 210-meter zipline crossing the valley. The zipline begins near the cross, another popular place to put one's feet up.

We hihgly recommend you to visit Cutkovska dam too. It is situated about 2 kilometers from the start of the valley.  Should you walk on deep into the valley, there is Pod Kozim cabin. Here you can buy some snack and, if you have cihldren with you, they can have some fun on a playground. Vysny Palenicky waterfall, the main nature attraction around here, is very very close from here.

Also, you may go along the trail leading up to Tlsta mountain. There you may step on the main ridge of the Velka Fatra. Alternatively, you may climb up to the klipp under Vtacnik. Bikers will have a good time here as well as they may ride on a bike trail from Cutkovo to Hrabovska valley not far away from there. Experienced bikers might enjoy the trail running to Lubochnianska valley.

We have some good news for people who like nature trails. Local Giant's trail (Obrova cesta) leads to Hrabovo. There are larger than life objects like a gigantic ring, binoculars, chair, glasses or a painting. Znama Neznama Cutkovska valley is a more specialized nature trail which unveils the mystery of local flora, fauna, and water bodies. Moreover, you can learn more of local invaluable marshlands and waterfalls as well as . Cervena skala, an interesting geological rock formation. Za dirou gorge making the end of the 6-kilometer trail will charm you.

Our trip to Velka Fatra's most beautiful valley was a tremendous experience for us. It is great for families. So go therto Cutkovska valley and enjoy warm days by making an easy trek while they last.
