Spain, Malaga – Live On the Street of Historical City – VIDEO

Published: 14.1.2020
Southern nations are famous for how much time they spend outside in the streets of their cities. Whether it's a several hours long dinner or an afternoon coffee. Let us now go back together to Malaga on the Andalusian coast and soak up at least a fraction of the local atmosphere.

Where else to start than on the local market. Fish, mussels, dried ham, chorizo and countless other sausages, great Spanish cheeses, fresh vegetables and fruits and of course plenty of olives. You can sample many treasures of Spanish cuisine right on the market. And it's worth it, local gastronomy is one of the best in the world.

After a busy day exploring all the sights of the city, join the locals in the evening and sit in the front garden of one of the many restaurants. The more you are, the better. In Spain, they offer tapas everywhere - originally small appetizers, which today often make up the whole dinner. Individual types are then shared among everyone at the table, so you can taste as much of the varied local cuisine. Of course, do not forget the great red wine.

In Soho, near the port, vandalism has become one of Malaga's greatest attractions. Originally poor and peeling streets gradually began to decorate more and more sophisticated graffiti. Today, a city visit would not be complete without a tour. The great thing is that next time you will probably discover another completely different one.

Of course, go to the sea. A beautifully landscaped promenade with many restaurants and bars leads from the center to the local lighthouse, along one of the many beaches of the famous Costa del Sol.

If you are tired of monuments, lively streets and the beach, I recommend a short trip to the Montes de Malaga National Park, which starts just outside the city. It offers several beautiful treks from a few hours throughout the day. Among the locals, the park is also popular for bicycles, which you can easily rent in the city.

Life in the streets is what I enjoy the most in Spain. Moreover, there is always something to discover in Malaga. So don't be afraid to slow down to the normal local rhythm and be surprised by where the city will take you.
