USA, Florida – Boynton Beach
At the end of the 19th century, it was discovered by Major Nathan Boynton, who was captivated by the local natural scenery, year-round sunshine and also the nearby beautiful beaches. That's why he founded the now famous Boynton Hotel, where he spent every winter with his family. The first settlers who settled here came from the state of Michigan and soon discovered that the local climate was conducive to fruits and vegetables. Therefore, they began to grow pineapples, tomatoes, mangoes and various citrus fruits, which were then transported by trains throughout the United States.
There are many interesting things to do in Boynton Beach today. For example, drive to the Green Cay Nature Center, where more than 40 hectares of wetlands await you, where you will move along wooden paths and thus observe various birds, alligators or turtles.
When visiting Boynton Beach, it would be a shame if you didn't go to the beach at least once. So the city itself is not located directly on the Atlantic Ocean, but the beaches are not far away. For example, Ocean Ridge Hammock Park is just 3 miles from the city and offers a haven for anyone who wants to avoid overcrowded places, relax or build sand castles. You will definitely not regret it if you go here to watch such a sunrise.
If you like waves, then right on the next beach, Oceanfront Park, you can enjoy yourself. There aren't many people here either, and if you have children with you, there's a whole section reserved for them.
However, the best thing here is definitely surfing. If you get hungry after a busy day, we recommend you go to Turtle Café and have something good to eat. If you manage to come here sometime between the beginning of March and the end of October, then you can see sea turtles on the beach.
If you would like to taste the fruit that has grown under the fertile Florida sun, we recommend going to Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market. However, it is not just an ordinary business. You can try a tractor ride, intertwine with a corn maze or try to break out a precious stone. Of course you can pick your own fruits and vegetables. You will find really everything from peppers to tomatoes, strawberries to sunflowers and more. The icing on the cake is local homemade ice cream.
