USA, Idaho – Sandpoint

Absolutely fabulous views await you here, which tempt you to thoroughly explore the surroundings, whether it is a natural mountain hike, or even evening boat trips on the lake. The largest ski resort in Idaho, Schwitzer Mountain Resort, is also close to Sandpoint. However, it is not only nature that attracts over two million tourists a year. The city itself is also known for its close relationship to art. In its center, local shops, restaurants, art galleries and various other cultural sites await you.
When you are in Sandpoint, we recommend that you head to Sandpoint City Beach Park as the sunset approaches. There are fantastic views of the lake, whose shore is sandy and therefore great for sunbathing and swimming. Of course, there are also playgrounds and places with the necessary equipment for a picnic. You can also play sports on the basketball or tennis court in the park.
When visiting Sandpoint, be sure to check out the local center. There are various restaurants such as Di Luna, where they serve great breakfasts and lunches made with ingredients from local farmers. In the shops you will find various antiques, which can become a valuable souvenir.
Culture plays a very important role in the life of the city. So don't hesitate to visit the Panida Theater, located on First Avenue in the heart of Sandpoint. The cinema was opened in 1927. Today it is multifunctionally focused, in addition to showing films, you can go to a music concert, for example, and various community events take place here. However, there was a time when cinema was almost certainly doomed, but thanks to a massive renovation, it returned to its former glory. The atmosphere is added by its interior, which is carried in the Spanish colonial style. It is therefore not surprising that the cinema is part of the list of national historical monuments.
Another place worth visiting is the museum in Bonner County. Here you will find details of the oldest inhabitants in the region, specifically the people of Kalispell and Kootenai. Of course, attention is also paid to European settlers, the logging that powered the local economy, and other important aspects of local history. The museum is located in the southern part of the city and is surrounded by the Lakeview Park with a large playground.
