USA: Yosemite National Park –Climbers' and Tourists' Paradise II
Half Dome is destination for many mountain tourists who want to reach the summit on their own. This climb is the most popular. Park rangers had to, however, put limit on the number of people so they would prevent some tragic accident to happen. Therefore, they introduced admission tickets. There is a limit of tickets issued for a day. Therefore, book some in advance. You won't by any in summer a day before you would want to climb. A klettersteig leads to the summit.
Tunnel View and Glacier Point are other important outlook. Tunnel View is situated on the road 41. It begings at the end of Wawon Tunnel with an adjacent car park. This outlook gives the most typical vista of the valley. Glacier Point is a valley reachable by car (better by bus during season). It is located at almost 1000 meters. There you can enjoy amazing view of Half Dome, the aforementioned granite rock. If you like to walk instead, take Four Mile Trail instead. It gets you out of the valley (the journey takes three hours). Don't leave before seeing it!
Yosemite is also known for beautiful waterfalls making the landscape amazing. Their are at their peak from April to June. Yosemite Watefall is the highest waterfall in park and Northern America. It is over 700 meters high and it flows down to Yosemite valley. In case you arrive in summer, prepare to not to see the waterfall at all for it lacks sufficient amount of water. Bridaivell Fall is, however, constantly there. It is easy to access and you can even reach a pond below it (becareful for rockr are slippery). Make sure to go there.
Vernal and Nevada are another two popular waterfalls. You can reach them along The MIst Trail. There are some beautiful scenic vistas along the trail. There is a vista of the two watefalls and also over part of Half Dome. You will be amazed by natural scenery. Vernal waterfall is about 2,5 kilometers down the trail. The Nevada waterfall down another 3 kilometers. We even took a bath above the Vernal waterfall. Only later we found out that this is forbidden.
There are also massive sequoia trees. You can find many of them in Mariposa Grove. There also some glaciers in the park. These are only what remained of large glaciers which formed local landscape.
Yosemite National Park is a beautiful place. If you travel in California you must visit it.
