Italy, Cinque Terre – Visiting Quiant Towns

Cinque Terre is national park and listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will fall in love with this Italian region. There are not monumental landmarks of antiquity or Middle-Ages as you may see in Rome, Bologna or Pisa. Yet still local atmosphere is splendid. Cinque Terre is an area consisting of five beautiful towns (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare). Not long ago (in the 1960s), tourists almost didn't know about them. Even if they did, it would be very difficult to reach them, i.e. only by boat. Today, you may travel there by car but don't expect your ride to be an easy one.

Indonesia, Nusa Penida – Mysterious Cave and Hidden Beach

Goa Giri Putri cave temple sometimes go by the name of nearby village of Goa Karangsari. High limestone caves are situated on the east coast of Nusa Penida, half way between Sampalan and Suana. As this is a temple, you have to wear a sarog, a piece of cloth wrappend around your waist to cover your lower body. If you don't have one you may rent one for 5 000 IDR (about 10 CZK).

On this day, we visit Namesti Zadosti Slovenskeho Naroda, a square in Liptovsky Mikulas quite hidden from sight. On this small piece of land adjacent to historic center of the city, significant historic events took place.

We spend this day in Marakesh. In the morning, we enter Agdal, gardens founded by the Berber dynasty of Almohad in the 12th century. They constructed here a network of water reservoirs and canals. This is the most advanced water reservoir in Maghreb. Thanks to this reservoir, there is a large olive tree garden around it. We approach the large reservoir filled with water. In the background, we see the High Atlas with its snow caped mountains. High palmas around us only add to this incredible place.

Sur is a beautiful town featuring colonial architecture. It is situated by the sea on several spits of land. There are hills, byas and so on. But don't worry. Locals are ready to help you and get you to the right place. There are no street names in Sur so always ask about a concrete place. There are several markets (such as fish market). Moreover, there is a shippyard featuring many ships under constructions. These resemble ships of the Christopher Columbus era and are hand made. To complete such a ship takes several months of work.

Varadero was the last place we visited during our vacation. It is an ideal place to relax. The city is known for Hicacos, a spit of land with beautiful white sand beaches and clear water. When riding in a taxi collectivo from Trinidad, the ride takes about 3.5 hours with one break. And this ride was really unpleasant.
