Bosnia and Hercegovina – Memories of the Winter Olympics and a Tour in Tuzla

Our journey in Bosnia and Hercegovina is coming to an end with the last day upon us. We plane to leave Sarajevo for Tuzla which is the site of the airport. Before taking off we want to refresh ourselves. The hottest day of our vacation is upon us. However, there is one more place close to Sarajevo which we want to see. This is the remains of once a bobsleigh track used for XIV Winter Olympis in 1984. Then the games took place in Yugoslavia. The trakc is located in the Trebevic mountain range southeast from Sarajevo on Jahorina mountain. The track was severely damaged during the war and mines were laid around. The remains of the track have been frequented by tourists lately. It is rather now a war memorial than a place which would be a memorial to the Olympics.

Austria: Schladminger Tauern –  Climb Up Hochwildstelle Mountain

The Schladminger Tauern have good reputation among tourists. This popular Alpine mountain range offers many treking possiblities – from easy to high difficulty. There are crossing of saddles or treks which would get you up to high mountains or ridges. Hochwildstelle pyramid mountain is among the most interesting places to go. It is the second highest peak of the Schladminger Tauern.

Bosnia and Hercegovina, Sarajevo – The Capital

Upon our visit to Blidinje nature park and Jablanica town we drive on along E73 road to the northeast. Our goal is Bosnia and Hercegovina's capital Sarajevo. Once again we drive on the new section of the freeway. There are several exits to Sarajevo so don't take the first one hastily and wait for the one which directs you to the city center. Otherwise you could make your drive much longer.

The Mala Fatra mountains, north Slovakia, is a popular destination for holidaymakers. The Mala Fatra is mostly covered by dense forests, the highest mountains of this range are bare. Mincol is a well-known mountain of the Mala Fatra. The mountain is inseparable from the Lucanska part of the range.

Thailand, Thaton: Forgotten Town in the Shadow of Beautiful Mountains – VIDEO

In the very north of Thailand, there is the town of Thaton laying on the River Kok. The river flows here from Burma. It flows at the edge of Doi Pha Hom Pok National Pakr. Then, between the mountains it runs to Chiang Rai, and then to the borderline with Laos where it flows into the Mekong. If you are one for some adventure, take a small boat from Chiang Rai to Thaton. The journey is great. It is an adventure which can continue in Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park.

Early in the morning we leave Mostar, join the E73 route in the direction to Sarajevo. We pass amazing mountain sceneries and eventually reach the town of Jablanica. We plan to stay here for a while but not now. By turning to the left we get deeper into the mountains some of which rise as high as 2 000 meters above sea level.

Cyprus, Ayia Napa – Cool Resort

We will finish our tour of Cyprus with a visit to the popular tourist resort in the Famagusta region, which is translated as the holy wooded valley - Ayia Napa. It is situated on the southeast coast of the island in the Kokkinochoria area.

When talking about Thailand many think of beaches with snow white sand and never ending party in Bangkok. Only handful visit the north of the country and if they usually don't go anywhere beyond the towns of Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. The entire north of the country has beautiful mountain ranges, wild nature, beautiful native villages, and best conditions for making a trip by bike. So let visit the northernmost national park in Thailand today - Doi Pha Hom Pok.

CZ, Příbram – Svatá Hora Site of Pilgrimage

Vrch nad Příbramí, where a small wooden chapel for hermits originally stood, has changed over the centuries to the most famous place of pilgrimage in Bohemia. In the 17th century, an extensive building with cloisters and several chapels was built here. The procession of pilgrims is constantly heading here for the statue of the Virgin Mary of Mount Athos.

After our visit to Hutovo Blato nature park and the town of Pocitelj, we follow the road to get closer to Mostar. However, we turn left near the town, ride for another 10 kilometers and follow brown tourist boards towards the town of Blagaj. The town was conquered by the Turkish in 1466. This heavily shaped the architectonic look of the town.

Few days before our vacation we still had no plan where to go. Our funds were limited, thus we thought really carefully about some affordable accommodation, fun and night life. We wanted to design it that it wouldn’t ruin us. Seemingly, distant Cyprus is not a good choice, but the opposite was true.

Thailand VI.: Chinese Town in Bangkok - VIDEO

The night is setting upon the land, streets are going alive – with food. When I arrived at there, I was not hungry. But now I would eat just everything. Hundreds of variations of noodles and rice, various sea creatures, great grilled meat, lots of fruits and veggies. The Chinese Town in Bangkok chewed me and swallowed me.

Tunja is a well preserved colonnial town founded by Gonzales Suárez Rendón in 1539. We were surprised how cold it was there. Well, no wonder. We are at 2820 meters above sea level!

Bosnia and Hercegovina – Hutovo Blato Nature Park and the Town of Počitelj

We leave Kravica waterfalls in the direction to Čapljina and Stolac towns. Brown tourist boards along the road help us to navigate. Half an hour of ride later we leave waterfalls behind us and turn to Karaotok Motel Park before the town of Stolac. There is a camp before the hotel, an outdoor restaurant, an information center with very friendly staff ready to help you with trips and other things.

Thailand V: Bangkok – Busy Metropolis of Many Faces - VIDEO

The capital of Thailand belongs to largest cities in southeast Asia as there live 8,3 million people. Cheap flight transportation makes it a natural place from where to start travels to the region including countries like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, or Malaysia. In my opinion, too bad than many travelers spend there a day or two and move on.
