Danube Cycling Route
This excursion could be started in Passau, historical town, placed at confluence of three rivers, or in near town of Scharding, wonderful Baroque town, situated at lower flow of Inn-river. After passing Engerhartszell, you drive through known „Schlogen Loop“, area between towns of Passau and Linz. Meadow forests in Machland area were changed Strudengau country with numerous castles and chateaux. Near to the community of Melk, you arrive to unique countryside with romantinc small villages in the middle of wonderful vineyard terraces and orchards – it is Wachau area. When you leave this section, rich on history monuments, you arrive towards plain-land of Tulln-Fields and continue to Vienna. When you leave this old Emperor´s town, you drive though Danube-Auen National Park, but at Carnuntun you neet numerous traces of Roman past.
