Slánská hora erupted with Bohemia Highlands at the same time. The path offers wonderful views towards the town of Slaný and environs. The town got its name according to salted spring which penetrated to the surface.
In the neighbourhood, black coal was mined in past. Over coal seam, there was situated so called „svartna“. It is inflammable clay with a share of organic carbon, created from rotting mud in former lake.
So, Kounov seam is just exhausted, but the other coal seams are placed in more deeper position.
