This path leads throughout vineyards in locality of Stará Hora (Old Hill), and forms a part of cycling circuit. Along the route, you find eleven information tables, where you can read information, regarding history and present time of wines in the community of Novosedly. This village was established in 12th century, with a church, at the same time. Later, in 1576, the community changed into small town. At present, Novosedly belongs to four greatest vineyard communities in Czech Republic. The vineyards form a surface of 455 ha, and so, they create the greates complex of vines.
In Novosedly, you can have a look Marcinak wine-cultivation. You can follow wine production and taste various wines from this company. As great curiosity, there is immense barrel of 1634, the biggest and oldest in the whole Central Europe. Its volume makes 1015 hl.
Just in Mikulov area, there is a start of vineyards. The soil is formed mostly with gravel, sand and clay. Great contents of limestone boulders and microclimate, creating here by Dyje-river, enable to mature a wine into excellent quality of variety-wines, such as - Vlašský Ryzlink and Veltlínské zelené.
