Kasakhstan
The Kasakhstan is a country situated in Central Asia. It penetrates, with its small part of its area, (in west direction from Ural-river) to Europe. The country neighbours with Russia in north-west and north, with the People´s Republic of China in the east, from its south part, their neighbours are Kyrghystan, Usbekhistan and Turkmenistan, and finally, from south-west, the country lies close to the Caspian Sea. The Kasakhstan belongs to most extended countries of the world (the surface makes totally 2 717 300 square kilometres) and as far as the territory is concerned, the country is the biggest inland state. However, most of its territory is very scarsely inhabitated (15 millions of inhabitants is presenting the density of six persons per 1 square kilometer).
As a capital, Astana replaced Almaty since 1997. Although most of Kasakhstan territory are filled with low situated platforms and hilly lands, the relief is very different. We can say that the surface of Kasakhstan is increasing in east direction. In west, inside Caspian depression (28 metres below world ocean sea level), there is spreaded the biggest inland sea of the world – the Caspian Sea.
