Ghent is the most beautiful of all Belgian cities. It is situated in east Flanders, i.e. the north of the country. The atmosphere takes you back centuries into the past. The city's outskirts are not anything interesting. One could say it looks like any other city. Actually, it is quite the contrary.
During our walks in Kromeriz we reached Archbishopric chateau on Snemovni sqaure. We follow up on our last week's walk and explore more of beautiful places in this city. Before entering the cahteau, we visit the Mlynska gate which is a part of city's fortification.
Kvetna Garden is our last stop in Kromeriz. The garden is true gem of architecture even on global scale.
Southeast Asia is booming. Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia are in some respects much more developed than we here in central Europe. However, should you like to experience the "true", unglobalized Asia then travel to Myanmar, Cambodia or - as we in this short video - to Myanmar, the country you might know as Burma.
You will fall in love with Antwerp immediately. Why? Once you get off the train, the train station will amaze you. You will see its interior which can rightfully be called marvel of architecture.
A city in the mountains, palm trees, coffee plantations, well-preserved houses and their colorful balconies and flowers - this is Salento. A paradise frozen in time.
The climate in the mountains in the north of Thailand is very different to the south of the country. Mountains usually rise as high as 1500 meters. Temperatures can easily drop below 10 degrees Celsius in winter. That's why strawberries are grown here, for instance. The mountain climate is great for high-quality arabica coffee as well. About 50 kilometers from Chiang Mai town, there is a coffee plantation I went to visit. It was there where I finally realized how much work is behind one simple cup of coffee.
Last week, we concluded our article on Kromeriz at Podzamecka garden which is listed as a World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is amazing nature gem of this picturesque city.
We decided to leave Rome on Sunday for Tivoli, a town about 40 kilometers away. Formerly, this was a place where Rome's rich went to recreate because they had their summer residence there. Today, tourists are most intrigued to visit the magnificent Renaissance villa – Villa d'Este.
