Upon our visit to Bergen we moved to the capital of the kingdom of Norway, Oslo. As the day was long and difficult, we rather went straight into bed than taking a stroll in the evening city. Yet we intended to explore the city first thing in the morning.

Just several kilometers south from Brno there is Rajhrad, a beautiful wine-growing town. There is a unique Benedictine cloister and adjacent to it the Memorial of literature in Moravia. Also, there St Peter and Paul church. To us, Rajhrad is an ideal place for a one-day trip from Brno either by train, car or bike. In summer, one afternoon is enough to enjoy it.

East Slovakia, Bukovske Hills I – Into the Wild

Bukovske hill is slightly low geological formation in Slovakian east partially being on Polish territory in its north and partially the Ukrainian on its east. Much of the territory is protected by the UNESCO and a part of the Poloniny national park which was declared in 1997.

Argentina, Patagonia – Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego

The name Tierra del Fuego possibly came to be when some explorers spotted the coast of unknown land with fires scattered around and smoke clouds from the fires of the indigenous people. The fire must have lookd like the island floats in haze above the sea.

Christmas Island is located in the eastern Indian Ocean and since 1958 includes to Australia and the status of overseas territories. However, it is without its own government. Tropical colonies with remarkable caves and a rainforest teeming with life.

East Slovakia, Bukovske Hills II – Into the Wild

After a long train ride we finally reached the easternmost village in Slovakia – Nove Sedlice. It was raining heavily at the time of our arrival therefore we headed right towards Kremenec guest house. Except for affordable prices they have quite good food. And we couldn’t refuse east Slovakian beer Saris. It was pretty water compared to Czech beers.
