The third highest mountain in the Small Carpathians is Vapenna mountain (752 m). It is set in the Pezinske Carpathian mountains near the town of Solosnica. It is a hardly-to-miss object which dominates its surroundings. Mostly limestone massiv is of rather of oblonged shape. The ridge is mostly uncovered and made of rugged rocks or cliffs. These run on its right side. On the area of 3 333 100 m2, there is the National Nature Reservation of Rostun. It is of the highest level of protection.
You can get on the top of Vapenna via couple of tourist trails. Either from the town of Solosnice, or by trails going from the Small Carpathian mountains. On the top, there is a smallo observation tower. You can see in all directions from there. The vistas are amazing and unforgetable. It is also the main reason why the mountain is so popular and frequented by the tourists.

The Region of Trencin is full of many landmarks hidden in nature. An example of such fusion os Brezova pod Bradlom, a town of 5 thousand situated at the foothills of the Small Carpathians. Bradlo hill rises above the town. On it, there is the burial mould of Milan Rastislav Štefánik who was born in Kosariska.
The ruin of Ostry Kamen castle stood once as a guardian of the so called Bohemian Road. The ruin is near Bukova, Trnava country. Its history isn’t as deep and as rich as in case of other castles nevertheless it is a popular place for tourists to see. And we went there as well.
The Male Karpaty mountains is a very beautiful mountain range situated in the west of Sloavkia. There are many interesting paleontological and geological localities in the south of the range. The significance of this area led to foundation of a new Slovak geopark - the Sandberg-Pajstun geopark (SAPAG).

Today we take you to the mouth of the Small Carpathian mountains to the town of the name of Jablonica.
Last week, we set off from Jablonica town, crossed the locality of Dubrava, climbed Lipovy Hill and reach Cerova-Rozbehy district. There we visited a beautiful observation tower. Then we traveled into the Middle-Ages because we visited Castle Korlatka.
Above the old town of Svaty Jur there are forests of the Small Carpathian Mountains. Hidden inside them there is a medieval gem - the ruin of Castle Bily Kamen. In our today's article we visit this Slovakian castle and tell you its story.
At the end of winter we set off to see the Natural Reservation of Rostun, in the Small Carpathian Mountain. We entered through the town of Plavecke Podhradi. All what we have seen is on the lines below.
Slovakia is a beautiful land. We became convinced of this on our one-day trip. We started in a small village of Haluzice near the district town of Nove Mesto nad Vahom.
After a short break yet again we went for a walk the Small Carpathian Mountains. This time we visited Hlbocianska valley near he town of Smolenice.

In our today’s journey across Slovakia we visit a remarkable ruin located in the region of Trnava only 3 kilometers from Dechtice. People call it Katarinka yet its official name is church and monastery of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
Last week we made a tour from Dechtice to the church and monastery of St Catherine. This nice stroll inspired us to make another trip – this time to Dobra Voda town, couple of kilometers away. The town boasts with a beautiful ruin of a castle and Jan Holly.
Many interesting places not frequented by holidaymakers are in the Small Carpathians. These are mostly hills with beautiful vistas to the surroundings that lure tourists to climb them. Vapenna Hill is one of the three highest peaks in the Small Carpathians and it offers beautiful vistas as well.
Since the time immemorial people were attracted to high places so they can have a view over surrounding landscape. Observation towers emerged quickly in central Europe, mostly in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. There are countless towers in Slovakia and it can be claimed some more will be constructed every year.
The Small Carpathian Mountains are not the highest mountain range in Slovakia. Nevertheless, they have a lot to offer. There are many interesting and picturesque nooks. From some peaks there are magnificent views of the landscape. However, the visitor will be enchanted by deep forests, caves, or many rock formations along the ridges.
As every mountain range, even Small Carpathians has its dominant peaks. They are above the surrounding lands. Peaks of these several giants make characteristic panorama of the Small Carpathians. They create visible dominants, they are orientation spots and give beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. One of these impressive titans of the Small Carpathians is Vysoka.
Between Devín, Nova Ves of Devín a Dubravka is a unique national nature reserve Devín Kobyla (mare). What distinguishes this from other reservations, and why it is renowned as the best tourist know it? All this we will talk on these lines.
Known and by tourists frequently visited protected paleontological locality of Sandberg at Děvínská Nová Ves a lot Bratislavans definitely know. The sand quarry is a popular destination for tourists as well as residents of the capital city. The reward for visiting the site is a beautiful view to Záhorská lowland, river Morava and Austria with Hainburges hills.
Location Sandberg at Děvínská Nová Ves is one of the places in the neighbourhood of Bratislava, often visited and searched by tourists and inhabitants of this region. Here you can admire the beauty of animate and inanimate nature.
In Bratislava and surroundings are several extraordinary tourist localities. In the northwestern part of Bratislava there are the Devinske Karpaty region; a popular destination among tourists. It is also great for some sporting activities.
Not every weekend is possible to leave the capital and move to greener and rocky parts of Slovakia. This is exactly why I like to wander in Bratislava. It's nice to visit places that one had no idea they existed.
