|Basic information about river|
Zdobnice river takes its waters from the slope of Velké Deštné. It flows to southwest and mouths into Divoká Orlice (Wild Orlice) near to the community of Doudleby. Its river basin makes 125 km². The river flows – in its upper section – with big slope through afforested enclosed valley in a narrow, stony bed with nice rapids, not interfered with civilization. The bed becomes moderately wide and the slope is not so sharp from its confluence with Říčka near to Pěčín. In spite of this, the navigation is interesting, and for those who drives here for the first time, is full of surprise. Some weirs are inconspicious, however, sometimes the landing above them is difficult. Zdobnice river is navigable during snow-thaw or after heavy rains, shortly only, as the water is taken away quite quickly. The water index in Slatina would sign water level amounting to 90 cm at least. The upper section to pěčín is very quick and the river bed unclear on some places. After Pěčín, we have more calm for our navigation. It is quite interesting the section after Slatina, and near to Vamberk through Peklo-valley, where the river flows accorss several stages.
